Capella Expands Its Academic Programs
Now you'll find new programs in public safety and eight other new programs at capella university. Enrollment is now open, with classes beginning the summer quarter of 2007.
It's part of Capella's work to meet the needs of its diverse student population.
The new BS in public safety, means Capella is one of the few online universities to offer BS, MS, and PhD programs in public safety. The BS in public safety is offered with a specialization in criminal justice.
An accredited online university, Capella serves more than 19,000 students in all 50 states and 56 countries.
Among its other new offerings, Capella also has added a new special education leadership specialization as part of its PhD in education.
“The current preparatory program for a career in special education administration is a patchwork quilt at best,” says Pamela Potter, president of the National Association of Pupil Services Administrators and special education director for the Loudonville-Perrysville, Ohio, school district. “A PhD focused in special education would be an efficient and effective way to prepare for the actual job that must be done. If I were starting my career again, this is the direction I would take without a doubt.”
