Capella Researcher's Book Aims For Next Level

A capella university adjunct faculty member has co-written a book aimed at helping people take their lives to the next level.

Co-written by Sara Orem, Appreciative Coaching: A Positive Process for Change uses positive questions, mindfulness, and other tools to acknowledge the strengths of individuals and create change.

Orem has a coaching firm and teaches in Capella's School of Business and Technology.

“Rather than focusing on individuals in limited or problem-oriented ways, Appreciative Coaching guides readers through four stages -- discovery, dream, design and destiny -- that inspire them to an appreciative and empowering view of themselves and their future,” Orem says. “What we have presented is really a new application of appreciative inquiry.”

It's just another way Capella and its faculty work to help improve people's lives.

An online university accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Capella offers graduate degree programs in education, human services, and psychology as well as other fields.
