Once billed as the "Switzerland of the East," attracting more than 1 million visitors annually, India's restive Kashmir region is now struggling to attract tourists due to a separatist insurgency by Islamic rebels. While foreigners are trickling back since peace talks began with Pakistan in 2004, local businesses worry they may never recover from the years of economic hardship.
